Esta señal pertenece a la categoría reglamentarias.
Esta señal se utiliza para indicar al conductor la prohibición de efectuar la maniobra mediante la cual un vehículo se sitúa delante de otro u otros que le anteceden traspasando el eje de la calzada.
En vías pavimentadas va complementada con una línea amarrilla continua al borde izquierdo del carril en donde se prohíbe la maniobra.
