Esta señal se empleará para advertir al conductor la proximidad a un puente, alcantarilla u obra de similares características, cuyo ancho es inferior al ancho de corona de la vía.
Se complementa con la señal reglamentaria ancho máximo permitido, cuando éste sea inferior a tres cuartos del ancho de la calzada
