Esta señal pertenece a la categoría regulatoria.
Indica a los conductores que deben ceder el paso a los vehículos que circulan por la vía a la cual se aproximan sin necesidad de detenerse, si en el flujo vehicular por dicha vía existe un espacio suficiente para cruzarla o para incorporarse con seguridad.
Se utiliza en aproximaciones a intersecciones donde el tráfico que debe ceder el paso tiene una buena visibilidad sobre el tráfico de la vía mayor (principal).
