Esta señal pertenece a la categoría preventivas.
Se emplea para indicar la proximidad de una señal ALTO, cuando ésta no sea visible a una distancia suficiente para que el conductor pueda parar en el lugar mismo de la restricción.
Se coloca un tablero adicional que indique la distancia a la que se ubica la señal ALTO, misma que no será menor a la distancia de visibilidad de parada, por ejemplo a 80 m.
