Se emplea para indicar a los conductores de camiones que tienen que transitar por el carril de su derecha, con el objeto de dejar libre el carril o carriles de la izquierda para el tránsito de vehículos ligeros.
Se usa exclusivamente en carreteras o vialidades urbanas con dos o más carriles por sentido de circulación, incluyendo los carriles de ascenso.
