Esta señal pertenece a la categoría reglamentación.
Esta señal dispone que el único sentido de desplazamiento permitido en uno o más carriles, es un giro a la izquierda.
Debe complementarse con marcas en el pavimento que indique un texto “SOLO” y una flecha que indique el giro a la izquierda, en cada carril al cual se aplica.
Las variantes que tiene esta señal permite incluso seguir de frente y a la vez poder voltear a la izquierda.
