Esta señal de advertencia tiene forma y colores especiales. Su aplicación puede ser permanente o temporal:
- a) En forma permanente se usa para indicar el punto donde finaliza una vía o rampa, más allá del cual no es posible transitar.
- b) En forma temporal se utiliza para advertir el cierre momentáneo de la vía en un cruce ferroviario o en un peaje, quedando la vía abierta al alzarse la barrera.
