Esta señal pertenece a la categoría preventivas.
Esta señal se empleará para advertir al conductor la proximidad a una bifurcación de la vía por el costado derecho de la misma.
Esta señal debe complementarse con las señales Pare o Ceda el paso y Velocidad máxima. En carreteras y vías urbanas de alta velocidad, también deberán complementarse con la señal Prevención de pare o Prevención de ceda el paso.
