Esta señal pertenece a la categoría preventivas.
Esta señal se empleará para advertir al conductor la proximidad a una estructura vial donde el peso máximo está limitado al indicado en toneladas en la señal.
Se complementa con la señal Peso máximo permitido, indicando la misma medida. En lo posible la ubicación de la señal deberá permitir al conductor un alternativa de desvío.
