Esta señal pertenece a la categoría reglamentarias.
Su propósito es obligar al conductor a detener totalmente su vehículo en el lugar donde se encuentra la señal, de modo de permitir el paso seguro de escolares, y a no reanudar su marcha mientras la señal sea mostrada.
Esta señal es portátil, tiene un mango de aproximadamente 50 cm de largo, y debe ser usada por personal instruido por Carabineros de Chile.
