Esta señal se utiliza para indicar la prohibición de hacer uso de aparatos sonoros y/o de generar niveles de ruido elevados por medio de aceleraciones bruscas.
Se instala próxima a hospitales, bibliotecas y, en general, cerca de recintos en los que la naturaleza de las actividades en ellos desarrolladas lo aconsejan.
Se debe ubicar aproximadamente 50 m antes del lugar donde comience el recinto a proteger del ruido.
